The Car Theory Test is an ability/competence test that UK residents take in order to obtain a full UK driving licence. The minimum age at which one can take UK car theory test (Category B) is 17. The theory test is made up of two parts. Both parts of the test are taken on the same day. You need to pass both to pass the theory test.

Multiple-choice test

This part of the test is computer base and comprises of 50 multiple choice questions. Candidate must answer at least 43 of them correctly to pass this section. Each question may have one or more correct answers indicated in the questions. All questions are randomly selected from DVSA(Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency) theory test bank. The test lasts for 57 minutes and all 50 questions must be answered.

Hazard perception

Candidate watch fourteen short clips filmed from the perspective of a car driver. Candidate has to identify potential hazard by clicking right or left mouse button.
